Write every day! - March 2024 - Day 1
Welcome back, friends of old and friends-to-be!
I'm excited to be joining you for another month of writing wackiness and hope that each of you gets what you most need from your participation in this traveling circus we call Write Every Day. I always enjoy the interactions we share, whether those are a comment thread or a simple "Yay!" I look forward to sharing this adventure with you. [Sylvanwitch]

Welcome post
Day 1:
Let us know if we missed you or if you didn't check in for a while, so we can add you. Of course joining the fun is possible at any point.
sylvanwitch here: 555 words on Chapter 11 of the novel I've been working on for the past several months.

1st: I worked on a few things here and there today: slight edits on a flashfic to send to beta, and some additional words on a WIP that (like many of its peers) will not tell me where it's going. *glares at it* ;-)

Also, I hope the reason for the easing off is gardening (?). I think we've talked about it before. I know I love to hear of your adventures in the yard! :-)

Goals for the month: I'm trying Get Your Words Out this year, which after two months I think I can say is good for my writing. I was afraid it would feel stressful, but it's more of a nudge/reminder to get enough writing time. So to keep up there, I should do 12,700 words this month. I also hope to 1) finish my werewolf story which I'm posting chapterized every week (which will definitely happen since the story is already finished), 2) revise and post my Temeraire fusion with Flight of the Heron, 3) hopefully finish the draft of another Flight of the Heron story I'm working on, 4) sign up for the
Day 1: 600 words on WIP, total word count 5,800.

Day 1: I had a marathon writing session to finish this fic, and wrote 4,700 words today. Some of it was after midnight, but I'm still counting it for the 1st!

That's the general idea, but it will depend on whether it ever stops raining. My lawn has been flooded so much this winter it's like a quagmire *sigh* I also want more time for crafting, I need to stitch a card for my sister's 65th... So much I want to do and so little time!

Those goals all sound both impressive and doable, particularly given your focus and work ethic. YAY for your day's words and good luck on your month's goals!

And WOW-WOW-WOW! That word count is HUGE! WOoooooo-HOoooooo! *\o/* Go, you!

Not sure how I'll get on today, but we'll see!

It's always fascinating how differently things work for each of us - I've tried GYWO twice, utterly failing both times as all it did was putting additional pressure on me which in turn rather blocked than encouraged me. ;op

I'm never using midnight as the counting cut (can you say that?) myself; I'm a terminal night own and at times will only start writing after midnight, and also want to count for myself what I managed in a day according to my own reckoning - so between getting up and going to bed.
