Write every day - Day 8

Do you have any writerly superstitions? Is there anything you MUST have or do, anyplace you must be, any song you must listen to, etc., in order to have a good day of words? Is there something you simply will NOT do because doing it jinxes the work?
For me, I don't like to talk about the plot of a work in progress because laying out the whole story verbally takes some of the urgency out of putting it down on paper, so I try to keep most of the story to myself, avoiding all but a two- or three-sentence blurb summary until it's done.

ysilme here: so far, only an alibi sentence for me today, and I'm not sure if it'll be more. It's choir rehearsal night, and I went on an unplanned spree of looking through and unpacking moving boxes which've been sitting around in the extra room since we moved in 14 years ago... *coughs* I feel totally accomplished and am proud that the pile is now less than half the size of before, but also rather exhausted. But I had an idea for a scene during rehearsal and noted down a few words of this, and will now write up some more details.

sylvanwitch here: I finished the first edits of the ambush project tonight! Yay! Next up, reading it end to end and doing an after-the-fact outline for each chapter and then figuring out what I need to add to the earlier chapters to make it more interesting. I also need to adjust the romance subplot because they get naked too fast and fall out for no obviously good reason. (I mean, there is a reason, but I don't think I make it clear enough when the actual "break-up" happens in the story. So...)

Being with people you love is an excellent reason for writing an outstanding alibi! (200 words is boss! :-)

I'm a big fan of disturbing, but I definitely relate to also not needing to write that thing sometimes.

As for epic things you don't intend to write... I am not qualified to say a word. I keep writing the epic thing. Sometimes, one epic thing interrupts another epic thing. If you resist, you are a stronger person than I am where epic ideas are concerned. :-)

Er, forgot to check in on the 7th. I wrote about 400 words on a flash fiction story.

And today for the first time since I joined this group, I wrote NOTHING. Zero words, zilch, nada. Not even an alibi sentence! I was so tired yesterday that I just... didn't. (Have to pace myself better on working in Mom's yard, but there were weeds as tall as me out there. Where do they come from??).

Anyway. Onward and upward!
