Day 28: 266 words before I fell down a rabbit hole trying to make sense of the military contingent of Stargate Atlantis (it doesn't. On multiple levels. and this fic would make it worse. why can I not stop trying to apply logic even in an idfic?)

There you are! I'm so glad you've gotten some words down every day, and I'm sorry for the slump. If there's anything we can do, please let us know. For me, when I'm in a slump, I sometimes just toddle along on alibi sentences, or I'll write poetry about whatever pops into my head. It's poetry just for me most of the time, and it helps to loosen up whatever's gotten cramped in my creative brain. I don't know if that would work for you, but I thought I'd mention it. *hugs*

YAY! Research can be the *best* part, at least in my experience. Go, you!

Lol! Yeah, the whole SGA military thing makes no sense at all, does it? Lol! Trying to figure out who outranks whom, why someone from THIS military has command over THAT person. I think what's missing is someone in Command Operations, someone recognized as The Head Honcho, and then there'd be ranking officers at the head of the various contingents (Air Force, Marines, Army) who answered to whomever the head of CO was. As far as I can tell, John Sheppard is selected despite his affiliation because of his strong gene and then ends up accidentally in charge b/c of the whole Sumner thing, and I guess the ranking US Marines officer just...*shrugs* takes it? Because a civilian leader of a civilian expedition (Weir) says so? Yeah, it doesn't make any sense at all.
