March 12th - 1849 words. Some work on the longish fic I was writing last week, and on three snippets that I've started expanding into ficlets. Also two more ficathon fills.

March 12. Started another story! Thought I was writing a drabble and QUICKLY overran 100 words by... a lot. And then realized, hey, this is a Holmes and Watson story! I can make it a 221B!

...now I just have to think of a word that starts with B.

An alibi sentence on the 9th, a couple of paragraphs yesterday and I'm several paragraphs in so far tonight.

Oh, excellent progress in all cases! To me, an alibi sentence is as real as anything else when it comes to keeping the writing muscles limber. I'm glad you're finding your momentum on the writing now, though! :-)

Day 12: 486 words on "Madame Park's Academy II," bringing me to the end of chapter 20, which I just posted.

Tonight I tried using a focus timer for the first time. I set a 15 minute timer and started it with the intention that until that time went off I would not leave the chapter I was writing. I wouldn't switch to another chapter to continuity-check something. I wouldn't go to the browser to research anything. I wouldn't pick up my phone to check an alert. I wouldn't even go to YouTube Music to change songs if something I didn't like came on. It works like a charm: These 486 words were all done in those 15 minutes!

Day 12: trying to keep a hand in on the old WIP, but I only squeezed in 136 words at the end of the night on that one, while the new WIP got 3,146 words.

Hey, you made words on that WIP, though, which is great. AND you totally rocked the new one! Look at that word count! Wooo-hoooo!

Day 12: Woohoo, I got 800 words of longfic! : D I finally channeled that "staying home being sick" vibe in the right way. I mean, I'm too sick to work (voice is not working, for one thing), but not too sick to write. It helped that I had reached a juicy bit of the fic.

Oh, wow, that's AWESOME! YAY for juicy bits and not-too-sick-to-write and all the other GOOD stuff. Here's hoping the sick part goes away soonest!

for the 12th: I sure wrote some. But I'm not sure how much and if I'll keep it all. At this point I have lots of snippets and scene ideas I want to use but I have no framework, no plot to actually keep it together.

So, it's like a jigsaw puzzle right now. That could be fun! (Or, you know, frustrating--your mileage may vary.). Whatever the case, I do hope you find your way to a plot when you're ready to do so!

It's a bit of both. I love exploring the character dynamic this way, which is not something I usually do (I'm a plotter through and through usually). But it's also frustrating to not know where this is going.
