Some time back, we had asked to organize some volunteers for the summer, and I believe there were a few of you who were interested in doing June, July, and/or August. If that was you, could you let us know in the comments here? If you're not sure that you can commit, that's okay. ysilme here: party preparations are running smoothly, morning writing as well, but I'm getting more exhausted every day between my usual difficulties to adapt to the increasing warmth and a really bad insomnia spell. *sigh* Creative output of the day: about 800 words of fic, a carrot cake, six large tablecloths ironed, and - by far the most tiring - filled out my postal vote for the Europe and communal elections on Sunday. (I'm usually going personally, but with six overnight guests staying and having to clean up and hand over the cabin, we figured postal vote would be wiser this time.

sylvanwitch here: We had graduation tonight, but I came home between the end of the school day and the time when I needed to be back at school to be a room proctor for a group of graduating seniors. I wrote 476 words on the H50 fic before I went back to school for the evening.

[360 written yesterday, which was enough to surprise me. am continuing to feel better but creative brain is still not totally resynced so it's tricky to settle down to write something for the wip, just trying to 'make words' rn ]

It makes sense that your brain hasn't recalibrated yet, and I hope that you find it soon does. In the meantime, that's an amazing number of words, particularly given that you've been so ill! Yay!

Oh, dear. I've been reading your posts, so I know what you're facing. I'm so sorry for all the bad news raining down on you, and I wish I had some way to help beyond offering moral support. I think it's great that you're managing any words at all, given the circumstances, and I hope you can find some comfort in that, at any rate.

I poked at the novel, but it made my head spin (looked at too much at once; it works better if I sort of sneak up on it). So I worked on an essay I'm writing for a (print! actual paper!) fanzine.

I think I volunteered for a summer month. June or July will work, whichever one auroracloud doesn't want to do. ;-) Or August is good, too.

Gosh, you both sound so busy. ysilme, I hope your insomnia subsides. Ugh!

But huzzah to both of you for getting some words down despite being so busy. That's what's so great about this challenge. It encourages you to never give up, never surrender to write, even if it's just a short bit, which adds up in the long run.

Wow! How exciting to be working on a fan essay for a zine! There's something so satisfying about seeing your words in actual print on a page, isn't there? You'll have to let us know when it's available. :-)

Thank you for the kind words. I'm on a four-day weekend, during which I have nothing but gardening and other enjoyable activities planned, so I can at long last let go of some of the busyness. Yay!

Also, I've asked auroracloud which month she'd prefer, and we can figure it out from there. Thank you so much for volunteering! You're awesome!

I'm so sorry to hear about your increased insomnia troubles, and I hope that you find that abating once your body adjusts to the new season. Also, good luck with your party, my friend! I hope it turns out to be totally magical! :-) *hugs*

Thank you! *hugs back* I'm used to insomnia, if you will, although I often manage to get kind-of sufficient sleep. But often also my sleeping pattern is badly disrupted, like at the moment, and my sleeping time is _really_ late, or very early, depending on the viewpoint. *g* Usually I'm able to sleep as long as necessary, then I mostly get sufficient sleep, altough the rythm of the day doesn't work well. For about ten days now I had a catsitting job in the morning. This means on the one hand only about half of my usual sleeping time, but on the other hand a much more regular sleeping pattern and a wonderfully peaceful, enjoyable hour for writing in the morning. I volunteer for the morning shift with catsitting jobs as I always try to get my sleeping pattern back on track with this help, which often works. Not yet this time; I suppose I was too wound up from the party preparations. But I'm mostly done after just taking the last cake out of the oven and finishing the glaze of the second-last one; half of the stuff we need is already packed in several cars, and after the unexpected changes of today everyhting seems to be settled again and working smoothly. Phew! ^^
I don't aim for magical, just everybody having fun and having everything they need for a comfortable time, and have time myself to talk with all the dear friends I otherwise meet far too rarely. But come to think of it what could be more magical? ;o) ♥
