That's a fantastic word count from a dead start--or ANY start! :-) Yay!
I call it the ambush project because it ambushed me while I was writing a different long original WIP. I was struggling with that WIP (the lesbian space opera, in my head) when I read a prompt from someone that got me thinking about a little story in a direction different from any I'd wandered before. I thought it would be a quick little thing--have some fun, shake something loose, because I was struggling on the LSO. Well...you can see how that ultimately worked out.
