Welcome back to Writing Every Day in March 2025!

Taking over from [personal profile] the_siobhan, we, [personal profile] sylvanwitch and [personal profile] ysilme, are going to host the challenge together this month in this joint account.

If you're new to the challenge and want to know what this is about, unsure if you want to join, or are just curious, please check out our intro post. There's also a hosting list if you want to check up on older rounds, check who's currently hosting, or if somebody already volunteered for hosting in the future.

The joint hosting works just like your regular challenge with daily tally entries, with [personal profile] sylvanwitch usually doing the commenting and [personal profile] ysilme doing the daily posts. We'll also both put our personal tallies into the main post but at different times due to different time zones, as we're in the U.S. and Germany. So if you're curious how our respective writing days went, we invite you to check again later. :o)

Please always check in on the most recent post, no matter for what day(s), and state the date/day you're checking in for to avoid timezone-related confusion. Thank you!

There will be a rec-your-fic and rec-your-favourite post throughout the month. You can find the older ones by the links in the link list of the journal on the top right.

Posts are usually going up around 11 p.m. Central European Time, with the first one going up earlier in the day for our timezonely-early birds.

[personal profile] sylvanwitch: I'm looking forward to sharing another month of wild word adventures with all of you! If there's any way I can offer you encouragement beyond the usual, please don't hesitate to ask.

Edit/update:  [personal profile] the_siobhan is doing the first part of the month. See you there!

Hi everbody, since nobody could offer to host the whole month of July, some of us are going to share the month in part solo, part shared hosting: [personal profile] the_siobhan is doing half of the month, and [personal profile] cornerofmadness and I, [personal profile] ysilme , are doing shared hosting for the other half here at [personal profile] zwei_hexen. Due to time zone differences I don't know yet who of us will start with the first half, but wanted to leave our traditional welcome post already as I'm going to be afk for most of the day today. Please check in again later here and/or at [personal profile] the_siobhan's for further info.

Welcome back to Writing Every Day in July  2023!

Different to the usual hosting here at [personal profile] zwei_hexen, half of the month will be hosted by [personal profile] cornerofmadness and [personal profile] ysilme since [personal profile] sylvanwitch is travelling. When it's our turn here [personal profile] ysilme will collect the tally and put up the daily posts, while [personal profile] cornerofmadness will take over the commenting. However, [personal profile] cornerofmadness is also travelling and has other obligations, so commenting might be delayed during our turn. I'm afraid I won't be able to contribute to the commenting part this month, as I'm curently having an emotionally very draining ongoing family situation - doing tallies and posts is fine, but autistic me is currently mostly out of social interaction spoons.

If you're new to the challenge and want to know what this is about, unsure if you want to join, or are just curious, please check out our intro post. There's also a hosting list if you want to check up on older rounds, check who's currently hosting after a hiatus, or if somebody already volunteered for hosting in the future.

The joint hosting works just like your regular challenge with daily tally entries, with [personal profile] cornerofmadness  doing commenting and [personal profile] ysilme doing the tallies and daily check-in posts. Posts will go up around 9:30 p.m. UTC +2.

Please check in always with the most recent post so your tally won't be missed, and state the day(s) for checking in to account for time zone differences.

We hope that you'll find what you need in your writing also this month, and that WED might contribute to this a bit. Successful writing and gracious muses, everyone, we're looking forward to share the month with you!

Welcome to the last round of the Write Every Day challenge of 2020. Taking over from [personal profile] the_siobhan, [personal profile] sylvanwitch and I, [personal profile] ysilme, will host the challenge together this month in this joint account.

If you're new to the challenge and want to know what this is about, unsure if you want to join, or are just curious, please check out our intro post.
We're now also having a hosting list if you want to check up on older rounds, or see if somebody already volunteered for hosting in the future.

The joint hosting works just like your regular challenge with daily tally entries, except that we'll both put our personal tallies into the main post but at different times due to different time zones, as we're in the U.S. and Germany. So if you're curious how our respective writing days went, we invite you to check again later or on the next day. :o)

If you're checking in with your tally for a different day than the entry in question, please state the date(s) your're checking in for. Since we're spread over so many time-zones, using "yesterday" or similiar easily gets confusing. ^^
Please also report your tally always on the most recent entry posted, no matter for what date, as it's easer not to miss it this way. Thank you!

Happy New Year to you all! May it be successful and satisfying in everything you aim for, but of course particularly in writing!

Welcome to the first round of the Write Every Day challenge of 2020. Taking over from [personal profile] bladespark, [personal profile] sylvanwitch and I, [personal profile] ysilme, will host the challenge together this month in this joint account.

If you're new to the challenge and want to know what this is about, unsure if you want to join, or are just curious, please check out our intro post.

If you're reporting your tally not for the day of the entry, like, want to report for the 19th or 21st on the entry for day 20, please state for which date it is instead of using 'yesterday' or similar; since we're spread over different time zones this gets easily confusing. We'd also like to ask you to always report your tally on the most recent entry, no matter for what day; it's easier to not miss a comment this way. Thank you!

We don't tag the entries as this journal won't contain anything else but tally entries, so you can just as easily track the journal. You don't need to subscribe, too, as the entries are all public. If any of you would prefer a tag they can track, please let us know!
(Ysilme)

So this is [personal profile] sylvanwitch  here and happy to be back with you for another great month of WED!  I'm wondering today if you have any writing goals for the glorious month of May.  Are you working on a short-term project or slogging through the weeds on something long?  Have you joined a fest or challenge?  Are you gearing up for a summer/winter of writing?  Whatever you're into, we'd love for you to share your writing stories here.  I'm looking forward to sharing the coming month of writing with you.

Welcome to another round of the Write every day challenge! Taking over from [personal profile] trobadora, we ([personal profile] sylvanwitch and [personal profile] ysilme ) are going to host this month together in this journal we created for this purpose. We hope nobody is having any problems with this. Please don't hesitate to talk to us if you have any questions!

Instead of explaining about the challenge in this first post of the month, we have a sticky entry here.

I'm putting this up early (in fact, just after midnight CET ^^ ) as I'm going to travel on the 2nd and will be busy with preparations tomorrow, and with my luck with such things I'll end up having an internet outage when leaving the posting until the evening. I'm going to add my own tally later, too.

So off we go with the first day of the new month! May our collective muses be kind and accommodating and our writing mojo strong! Do any of you have specific goals for the month, challenges waiting for you, or specific plans? And if you like, tell us how your start into the new writing year went, and if you're happy with your progress so far.
Ysilme

[personal profile] sylvanwitch here just checking in with my own progress for the day.  *sighs*  Having three days off for the weather SHOULD mean I get more done, right?  *grins*  And I am getting plenty of stuff done--housework, emails.  But writing?  Not so much.  The good news is that I've finally finished the rough draft of the 15-character meme story I've been working on since Monday.  I'll go over that tomorrow and post it.  AND, I've promised myself a real writing day this weekend, when I can dedicate several hours to the ambush project, as I call it, so that I can get back to the lesbian space opera (LSO) that I started last year.  So, that's the plan for this month.

[personal profile] ysilme here, adding my own tally. I managed 166 words, thanks to a brand new drawer fic idea. Considering the power-cleaning and -packing I had to do, it was pure procrastination, of course, but also a decent enough amount. *g*

Hi and welcome to the Write Every Day Challenge!

This is a joint account used by [personal profile] sylvanwitch and [personal profile] ysilme to join resources when it's our turn to host the challenge.

(If you're wondering who's talking to you here: we'll try to remember to sign every entry or comment we make, but we're also using icons with our names to differentiate who's posting an entry or comment. For commenting we'll also be using our own journals.)

What is the Write Every Day challenge?
Write Every Day is just what its name says: We challenge each other to write, every single day. Our goal is to encourage one another and provide the accountability and/or motivation that some of us find very useful in keeping the words flowing. However, there's no obligation and no pressure, and if writing didn't happen for you on any given day, there won't be any judgement, just support and sympathy!

Who can participate?
Everyone is welcome! We’re an open-minded, nonjudgmental group of people who enjoy writing.

What do I have to do?
We’ll post each day with a little bit about our writing and a running tally of participants. All you need to do is drop by the comments on the most recent tally entry to let us know how you’re doing. Please know that you are never obligated to check in. Also, if you'd like to comment on someone else's comment but aren't checking in for yourself, that's perfectly fine too. We're really easygoing 'round here, and conversation is absolutely encouraged.

Is there a word limit or quota?
Nope. Write as little as an “alibi” sentence (just what it sounds like—a sentence you write to say you’ve written, an alibi for the day, as it were) or as much as you’d like. All word counts are welcome!

Is there any restriction on the kind of writing I can do?
Absolutely not! Fanfiction, original fiction, screenplays, blog posts, meta, academic writing, morning pages, reviews, editing, letter-writing, nonsense poems, bucket list: if it feels like writing to you, it counts!

Do I have to participate all the time?
No way! You can come and go at your pleasure.

New to WED? Got any questions?
Please don’t hesitate to contact [personal profile] ysilme or [personal profile] sylvanwitch in the comments or via PM at our individual journals, or comment here. We’re here to help!

Starting 2020, we're also posting two reccing posts during the month, one to rec the fanworks you created or updated during the month, and one to rec your favourites (fannish places, groups, communities, media, stories - you name it) online. The entries are tagged with the fandoms etc., and we like to invite you to also check the older entries for recs and interesting places. As of 2022 we've also added WED Resources which consists at the moment of a great list for naming resources. You'll find easy links to all these in the link list of the journal on the top right.
