Some challenges have a word limit, and while I enjoy the process of editing down to hit the right word count (whether that be exactly 500 words or under 1k), it often leaves me feeling the story is not as good as it could be. I've got one that really needs a smut scene, but the challenge community doesn't allow explicit content so I left it out to write later. I'll get around to it when I'm in the right mood. =)
