Day 1:

sylvanwitch here:  On Day 1, I added 430 words to chapter five of the original m/m action romance novel I've been writing since January.  Today's work also involved some research, which I always enjoy, in this case figuring out what rank an NROTC college student's fitness instructor might be.  Eventually, I figured out a Marine Staff Sergeant would be accurate and fit nicely.  I also looked up common surnames in El Salvador.  This is the sort of incidental stuff that adds a splash of fun to the writing, I think.  How about you?  Is research a favorite diversion of yours where writing is concerned?

ysilme here: Day 1 was spent with useful but time-consuming things around the house and some wrapping up of RL duties, leaving me with just about enough time for some editing and an alibi sentence. Writing has been difficult since the start of January and currently I'm just grateful if I get an alibi sentence out, so there is that. ;o)

I begin the month with my longfic at 62,100 words in various stages of draft. I think I'll make it my goal to finish the round of post-beta edits I'm currently doing on the earlier chapters, and let's say write two more chapters.

My life is stressful right now, so I'm going to give myself a break and just have "write every day" as my goal for the month. That said, fandom is a good escape from my stressful life, so I do hope to get some writing done.

Day 1: Wrote 500 words on my longfic, total word count 126,800.

Goals for March are basically to show up and write every day (with the possible exception of my birthday). Depending on exchanges and whatnot, I might start dusting off my long-hibernating WIP that I wanted to finish this year? But no pressure, we'll see what happens.

Feb 1: Alibi sentence, and finished writing an exchange letter!

Day 1: A couple paragraphs of summary sketching out the direction of a minibang project I've just signed up for! I'm sure I'll start doing a lot more canon review for it this month, and I might even start writing it!

Other goals for this month: write all the exchange fic that's due. xD three exchanges! that's all! nothing much, right? (I have plans of some sort for all of them; I just need to sit down an write.)

Day 1: I have a main WIP I'm really hoping to finish a draft of this month, which I managed to write 438 words of today. I also finished up a draft of a side WIP with 776 words today; now to contemplate edits. Also wrote 554 words on another, hopefully much shorter, side WIP.

Day 1: 450 words in a late night ramble. Not too bad.

I enjoy research a bit too much, actually, it can really distract me from writing. I tend not to research until I'm done writing, unless it's a showstopper. Usually I use the brackets method for little details that would derail me. [expensive wine brand] or [sports game] etc.

I am also a bracketer, though depending on my mood while writing, I might interrupt the flow to look something up, particularly if it's one of those picky details I'm going to need to use later as well.
