March 13th - My triple drabble somehow ended up being 1148 words. Oops.

Also made a small edit on the final chapter of my Whooping Snakes fic for a grand total of 1156 words today.

Day 13: Okay, cleared edits on Ch 13 by the skin of my teeth, which also included writing some new bits. (But really, the edits need doing, so I consider them writing work...)

Checking in for days 10, 11, 12, and 13.

A couple sentences for day 10. Not zero.

Does writing up roleplay character descs, as well as vignettes to do with said character, count for WED as well as fiction scribbling? If so, at least 100 words for day 11, and at least 200 for days 12 and 13.

Not zero is what we're all about--lol! YAY for ALL the scribbling! We are not gatekeepers of the words--it counts if you say it counts! :-)

What she says - everything that feels like writing or contributing to your writing counts! You decide. WED isn't about counting the kind of writing or number of words or whatever, but a tool to aid the participants in creating and fostering writing habits, and encourage each other in our achievements and failings. Of course, this works different for everybody, so everybody has very personal takes on this.
I've found that what I personally need is a sense of daily achievement to keep my writing going, and that at times when the words won't flow or offline life is badly interfering, it makes a difference if I can log something as writing for a day or not. So when things are very dire I might log even just a comment I wrote to an entry, as I found this in turn mostly leads to "just an alibi sentence" afterwards, which in turn often also leads to a small paragraph of fic. But even if it doesn't it's fine for me, as I don't feel as if I've failed, so will start on the next day in a positive writing mood. When I did this at first it felt a bit like cheating to me, but as it turned out that over time I was able to develop a sound, regular, writing habit out of this, and was able to increase my daily output on regular days considerably, I'm now fine with it.
Others might prefer to only count fic words for their daily tallies as a challenge, or similar, or anything in-between. You do you, and should do what feels best for you and will help you most :o)
