zwei_hexen: Sketched feather with text: Write every day Ysilme Sylvanwitch (Default)
[personal profile] zwei_hexen
We'll be doing images with quotes again every two or three days. Today's quote was chosen by [personal profile] sylvanwitch, the image is [personal profile] ysilme's first attempt at glass ball photography.

Glassball composition with a rowing boat under a grey sky.
"A story rises from the springs of creation, from the pure will to be; it tells itself; I takes its own course, finds its own way, its own words; and the writer’s job is to be its medium." (Ursula K. Le Guin)

~ ~ ~

[personal profile] ysilme here: thank you all for your kind words! My arm is better but typing still not ideal, which is why I haven't replied to anybody yet. I managed 128 words for day 3, though.

[personal profile] sylvanwitch here: We had another weird day in terms of obligations and T's work schedule, but I did write 431 words on the novel before we left the house for the day.

I found I can type well enough at the desktop as I'm sitting closer to the keyboard there. But I'm glad the arm is nearly fine again by now! ;oP
I hear you on the obligations; our week was also filled up with time-consuming stuff that needed to be done. Go you for getting a decent amount of writing in even so! *hugs back*

[personal profile] ysilme, I like that photo very much, the way the blue in the ball is reversed from the blue of the boat. Keep taking good care of your arm, and don't worry about replies to our well-wishes. :-)

[personal profile] sylvanwitch, oh that's a nice wordcount for a weird obligationy day -- and getting it done early is smart!

Jul 3: Lovely evening out with fandom people so not a lot of time for writing. Happily, I was expecting that, so I wrote an alibi sentence before I left.

Oh, YAY for lovely evenings out! That sounds perfect. An alibi sentence is totally acceptable in any circumstance but is especially excellent in THIS one, when it's for such a good reason. :-)

[personal profile] ysilme: rest your arm and don't reply! : )
[personal profile] sylvanwitch: great wordcount under the circumstances!

Day 3: 700 words, total wordcount 29,400. Started writing early in the day, that's why the good wordcount!

I love the photo, and the quote!

[personal profile] ysilme: Take it easy with your arm!

[personal profile] sylvanwitch: Good for getting some words done before the busy-ness started. 8-)

Day 3: 1,034 words of basically chatting with myself about what I'm writing, and in the process, actually... writing what I'm writing. ;-) This worked even better than bullet points! Though I made some of those, too. Chatting with myself in bullet points... Can writing get any weirder? ;-)

Thank you so much!

WOW! Look at that word count! I've had success with a similar process (what in my case I've called a "narrative" outline, where it's me plotting things in a clearly plot-like way and then the characters inserting dialogue or me writing a whole paragraph of description; it's like whatever comes before a zero draft?). Anyway, I am so glad you're clearly enjoying the process! YAY!
