Write every day! - July 2024 - Day 3
Jul. 4th, 2024 12:00 amWe'll be doing images with quotes again every two or three days. Today's quote was chosen by
sylvanwitch, the image is
ysilme's first attempt at glass ball photography.

"A story rises from the springs of creation, from the pure will to be; it tells itself; I takes its own course, finds its own way, its own words; and the writer’s job is to be its medium." (Ursula K. Le Guin)

Let us know if we missed you or if you didn't check in for a while, so we can add you. Of course joining the fun is possible at any point.

ysilme here: thank you all for your kind words! My arm is better but typing still not ideal, which is why I haven't replied to anybody yet. I managed 128 words for day 3, though.
sylvanwitch here: We had another weird day in terms of obligations and T's work schedule, but I did write 431 words on the novel before we left the house for the day.

Date: 2024-07-05 01:22 pm (UTC)I hear you on the obligations; our week was also filled up with time-consuming stuff that needed to be done. Go you for getting a decent amount of writing in even so! *hugs back*

Date: 2024-07-04 05:42 am (UTC)Jul 3: Lovely evening out with fandom people so not a lot of time for writing. Happily, I was expecting that, so I wrote an alibi sentence before I left.

Date: 2024-07-04 08:45 am (UTC)Day 3: 1,034 words of basically chatting with myself about what I'm writing, and in the process, actually... writing what I'm writing. ;-) This worked even better than bullet points! Though I made some of those, too. Chatting with myself in bullet points... Can writing get any weirder? ;-)

Date: 2024-07-04 05:09 pm (UTC)WOW! Look at that word count! I've had success with a similar process (what in my case I've called a "narrative" outline, where it's me plotting things in a clearly plot-like way and then the characters inserting dialogue or me writing a whole paragraph of description; it's like whatever comes before a zero draft?). Anyway, I am so glad you're clearly enjoying the process! YAY!
