My turn to post a question today: I'm always quite curious how user names come about. So if you don't mind to share how yours happened, if it' linked to something special or whatever, I'd like to know!

ysilme here: today, I wrote fic in the morning, some nonfic in the afternoon and a bit for the joint-fic-project in the evening. I didn't manage to put word count together yet as I haven't yet synched the files from my phone due to a technical mishap, so I don't have a number. A couple of hundred words or so by my guess.
And to answer my username question for those who might be interested: after two user names that became impractial or too common for various reasons, I looked for something in Sindarin (one of Tolkien's Elvish languages) that fit me in some way and came up with
isilmë, which means moonlight - very fitting for nocturnal me who loves the full moon and has been suspected to be a were-someting at times. *g* But the name was already taken in its original form, so I decided to write it with an Y, as a kudos to my favourite video game, Skyrim, as well as a couple of other obscure references to that letter. The pronunciation might be a bit unexpected if you aren't familiar with Sindarin terms. I tried in vain to find an example; perhaps I'll record one myself. ;o)
sylvanwitch here: 640 on the H50 weird AU, which has decided it wants to be more than a simple five-things sort of tale. Turns out the casefic aspect has decided to be more than simply useful context. I'm sort of curious to see where it leads. ;-)
As for my username, I chose it a loooong time ago when I wanted a name that reflected my particular "flavor," as it were, of solitary paganism. "Woodwitch" was taken, so I made it "Sylvanwitch" instead. Since then, I've morphed it into "Lady Sylvia" for my public tarot-reading appearances and my original fic penname, Sylvia Greenwich, which is pronounced like the city in England but is my private, sly wink at my original internet username.
