Let us know if we missed you or if you didn't check in for a while, so we can add you. Of course joining the fun is possible at any point.

~ ~ ~

[personal profile] ysilme here: no writing for me yet today, I'm only sitting down to it now. On the other hand, I could add 2,5k of nonfic to my alibi sentences yesterday, which feels good.

[personal profile] sylvanwitch here: 923 words for me tonight, a lot of them dialogue. There's suddenly a lot of talking going on. Sometimes that happens, but I want to make sure on edits that I'm not dumping exposition or running their mouths for the sake of hearing them talk. ;-) Otherwise, yet more grading today. *sighs*

Dec 5th - 950 words, drabbles, a double drabble and one 350 word drabbly thing.

Also started knitting another pair of arm warmers.

I'm working my way through the prompts at dw100, now THAT's a challenge, lol! Trying to write at least 4 a week so I can get caught up in a couple more years...

Doing my best. The arm warmers are the best idea I've had, they're like fingerless mitts with a hole left in the seam for my thumb, and they're ribbed so they're a close fit.

They are. I was inspired by the ribbed cuffs on the sweater I'm making, which is on hold in favour of making sure I have plenty of arm warmers. It's surprising the difference they make.

Yay for the words! And I'm so going to call my midnight/after midnight snacks "tea" from now on. Tea as a meal isn't a known concept in my language (although "coffee" is, but you're only having cake and torte for that, or perhaps some cookies, but nothing savory *g* ), and as I'm always drinking tea anyway... *g* (In my defence, I'm not eating breakfast, and lunch never before two p.m., so having a small meal in the night is normalish as I stay up much later anyway.)

[hehe, its a regional thing in my area that rather than saying 'breakfast, lunch, dinner', its 'breakfast, dinner, tea' - and my waking hours are 2pm-6am, so 'tea' happens at midnight-1am. im waiting for it to catch on, so im glad when it gets a thumbs up. my dinner is a lot like your coffee-as-meal, gives me a sugar kick to overcome the commute ]

From: [personal profile] ysilme
Our "coffe" is not considered to be a meal, just the coffee break in the afternoon. Traditionally, this used to be a somewhat festive affair in the Sunday afternoon when you visited family, and later also friends, and cakes and "torte" was the only food items considered suitable. In more posh circles you could have "coffee" everyday, and, when drinking tea became posh enough, this could be replaced by tea (with its own set of rituals). The main purpose always was socialising, though; you wouldn't sit down to have "coffee" by yourself, no matter that you might well have coffee or tee and something sweet in the afternoon.

Aaah, hello, and sorry I've become awful at checking in lately and seem to continue it in December! But, please add me to days 1-5 when you've got time.

I've continued working on the novel I started in NaNoWriMo, and set myself the more reasonable goal of 10,000 words this month; I got to nearly 25K during November, but I need more time this month for studying and for figuring things out in the novel. I also need to start my Yuletide fic, and I have a ton of other fanfic ideas I'd like to do something about this month. Writing this here because I didn't check-in in the first-of-the-month post where you talked about goals!

Yesterday, though, I spent a while writing down my thoughts about another story (novel?) I'd like to write, because it's been popping up in my mind lately and I thought I'd see if writing about it gives me more concrete ideas. I also wrote down a list of things I need to figure out in my current novel so that I don't have to leave in quite so many blanks.

Anyway, thanks for hosting this month, and I'll try to become more regular with checking in again!

No worries on the check-in! We know how life gets. :-)

Also, you sound like you are brimming over with ideas, which is fantastic! (I find that sometimes the idea-well is just...bone dry.) I hope you're able to make your goal, whatever you choose to focus on, and that some of these plot bunnies are set loose in the wild to propagate! :-)

It's always good to see you, even if it's just in a "run-by" capacity! *hugs*
