[personal profile] ysilme here: 579 words of nonfic (diary entry, it's been a hectic and somewhat frustrating day today), and one sentence for the current WIP. That one feels like an alibi sentence as I forced myself to write it, but although I'm unlikely to keep it it felt good doing at least that.

[personal profile] sylvanwitch here: I added a bit to the H50 story, edited it, and posted it this evening. Yay!

*hugs* I'm sorry you had a rough day, hon, but I'm glad you wrote that alibi sentence, and I hope tomorrow brings you less stress and more time.

Congrats to finishing and posting your story! *\O/*
Nothing bad, really, just bad time management on my part which caused things to get hectic, and of course some taking up more time than normally because it's been just one of those days. ;op And then there were the conferences about new lockdown decisions and rules, with the results proving even more that our government is currently going to the dogs.

It must have been one of those days! Killer, crazy work day, but I switched from my main WIP to something a little “easier” and managed 586 words.

Day 4: I ran out of time (have to work on scheduling writing time a bit better) but got about 230 words in, briefly mulling on a project I'm starting. I also did a bit of research for that project.

Ysilme: Writing a diary has been really important to my, I don't want to say "real" -- more structured? -- writing. Even venting about a hectic day is helpful! When I do Nanowrimo, I always keep a doc alongside where I vent and whine and brainstorm and noodle around, writing both about the work in progress and Life in General. I used to feel guilty about adding it to my word count, but finally realized that it was as much a part of the process as writing the actual story. Some of the story would likely not have been written without the diary.

Alibi sentences are good too.

Sylvanwitch: Yay for posting!

Yay for writing going on for you! :o)

And yes, diary entries work in exactly this way for me, too. I don't do them regularly, but also often for venting about things that are blocking me also creatively. I sometimes also do morning pages in longhand for that purpose, or sometimes writing long message/mail exchanges with my two main writing buddies. Many of these contribute to my writing process, which is why I'm counting them, too, if there's no other or no regular writing to count. And this also as I found out for me personally it works best, motivation-wise, to know I've done at least something about writing every day.
