ysilme here: I'm posting a bit early today and didn't find leisure to write so far; the spousal unit combines a decent booster reaction with an upset stomach which is kind of a powered-up man flu, and kitty boy #1 has cabin fever because it was sunny and warm outside today but why is it now dark and boring and I'm responsible for the sun having gone away. *rolls eyes* (He's nearly deaf so being outside at night doesn't do much for him).

sylvanwitch here: I added 442 words to yesterday's story and am quite happy with the progress I'm making. I haven't abandoned "Cherry's Ghosts," but these days, I try to let myself do what makes me happier, and right now, it's this newest story, with the highly unoriginal working title, "Magic School." *grins*

March 3rd - 824 words. What started out as a double drabble ended up as an almost 600 word ficlet. Also did some work on a fic for posting, fleshing out a few bits that I wasn't happy with.

Also stuffed my final 5 knitted mice. I'm going to miss making them.

Yay indeed! I now have 400 packed in boxes, I got a bit carried away trying to use up some yarn oddments. I didn't intend to make so many. They're actually for the kiddies at Halloween rather than for kitties. Kids love them, and I was running out this year, so I decided to make some more and forgot to stop ;)

Thanks! It's good when ideas blossom like that, but also a bit annoying when I'm trying to re-stock drabbles for posting to my various drabble collections.

Thankls! And it's not just mice! Googly Bugs, pendants, bouncy spiders, bookmarks, sometimes little felt toys... I like the kids to have something that will last as well as the candy =)

I got my usual 500 words, though today I had tears in my eyes as I wrote! The fic is a tragic one, I'm afraid. Total word count: 23,700.

Day 3: More worldbuilding/outlining for minibang fic, and ~800 words of an exchange fic. Which is more of the exchange fic than I expected I'd write, when I told myself I had to actually do something with it today instead of continuing to ignore it despite the rapidly approaching deadline. xD;

Excellent progress! And a snail mail letter--that's so good to hear. I, too, still send snail mail to friends, and on the rare occasions when I receive it, it's better than Christmas!

Mar 3: 400 words, successfully concluding this sex scene that I've been stuck on forever, good job me.

ysilme, I hope you found time to write! And I also have a kitty who holds me responsible for inclement weather. I tell her it's not my fault, but nothing doing.

sylvanwitch: I agree, unless you have a good reason to prioritize something else, def do the thing that makes you happier. Life is short, happiness matters, and art is a different thing than doing the dishes. (That is: the dishes need to get done however you feel about it, and won't suffer much from your heart not being in it. Whereas art does care whether your heart is in it!)

Woooo-hoooo on achieving the climax. *ahems* I mean to say, go you for getting those words down! :-)

And thank you for your wisdom, my friend. I am sort of a workhorse, in that I'll write even when I am profoundly disengaged from it, and that just always feels, well, icky. ;-) With so much else going on in the world these days, it feels almost indulgent to just focus for a few minutes on something that makes me feel whole and gives me pleasure, but as you say, life is short.

Thank you, too. I did find time but ended up with only an alibi sentence, and read fanfic instead. ;op We have four furries, three siblings (two boys, one girl) and an older girl, and one is always not completely satisfied with the situation. Mostly it's being not sufficiently cuddled, though, which is, of course, quite a chore to take care of. ^^

I had a desultory day. I need to finish my canon review before I can continue with the story, but I don't much like watching things during the day... so I just made an 80-word note and frittered the rest of the day away. :-)

Day 3: More noodling on Leigh Brackett. I hit a snag on my idea of writing about a science fiction, a mystery and a western because her one (1) western, Follow the Free Wind is seriously out of print and fairly expensive secondhand. I suspect we have it at the bookshop...somewhere... in a box. Sigh. I ordered a crappy ex-library hardcover ($14.00) instead of a snappy vintage paperback ($50 and up!). Because it sounds like an interesting book; based on the life of Jim Beckwourth, an ex-slave who lived with the Crow and became a pretty fierce warrior, then went on to do other stuff like joining the California gold rush, some exploration, running various businesses, and some, ugh, sketchy service with the US Army. I'm not how much of all this Brackett's book covers.

Anyway, her mysteries (2 I think?) are easier to find, and I snaffled up all the Bracketts in the SF section at the shop, so that's a cinch. Lots of reading to do...

Ysilme: I hope the spousal unit is feeling better! And that you got some writing in.

I did get a little writing done on Day 3, but most of it was spent doing paperwork and phone tag and deciding to take things easily and read a book I'd been meaning to for a good while.

I'm glad you got to balance the paperwork and phone stuff with reading something you really wanted to get your teeth into. I hope it brought you a sense of peace. Good on you for getting some words down as well. :-)
