[personal profile] ysilme here: 42 words for day 4, plus a bunch of organisatorial work for the NP.
Edit: I ended up taking out one of my long-neglected Tolkien WIPs and writing a few lines, getting my word count up to 111 words.

[personal profile] sylvanwitch here: I went to add more words to my novel earlier today and discovered the words I'd left off with yesterday were the perfect ending. That was a bit of a shocker! So, I jotted down 253 words of notes for directions I want the editing to take the novel, and I may just start that tomorrow. It's been so long since I began this novel that the earliest chapters really should feel like they were written by a stranger, so I'm counting that as waiting time.

Thank you! I enjoyed myself thoroughly because this year (unlike last year) I managed to get ahold of the copy with the extra scenes in it! Which is a better film.

And yeah, haha, my list is extensive for a couple of reasons:

1. I overestimate what I'm capable of.

2. I'm a chaos/mood/ADHD writer; I will flit between WIPs and no matter how much I try to plan my production schedule, it always ends up in the garbage within a few weeks. So I make a huge to-do list each month of the projects I want to work on/finish and then hopefully my inner mood/chaos/ADHD gremlin lets me cross off 1 or 2. XD

YAY for getting ANY words in with that particular distraction!

Wooo-hoooo! That's a great word count for Day 3, and Day 4 is respectable too! YAY for out-of-town trips--one of the many reasons alibi sentences were invented. :-)

Woo-hoo, [personal profile] sylvanwitch! Congrats on finding the end!

[personal profile] ysilme, I hope the organisational work was satisfying!

Jul 4: Wrote a couple of paragraphs on the Holmes longfic, but it's all very lacklustre. I suspect I've started the chapter in the wrong place? I'll play with it tomorrow and see.

I wrote on the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th. I ended up with a total of 1780 words for the three days, but they were really difficult words: Two characters finally had a serious conversation that could have totally changed the course of the story if they had had it several chapters ago, and then another character did some deep soul-searching about the changes she was making in her life and where she hoped they would eventually take her. (Or not take her - she's much clearer in her thinking on the negatives than the positives.) I'm hoping the characters let me have a light-hearted scene tonight - I think I've earned it! ^_^

Thank you so much, hon! *dances under the confetti and air snakes* :-)

I began it back in the middle of September 2023, which surprised me because I thought I'd started it a little later in the fall. At any rate, it's been a constant companion for the better part of a year, and I am sort of missing it, but I'm also enjoying the freedom to just play around with words and ideas.
