sylvanwitch here: 353 words on the project for T. I haven't told him I'm actually writing notes for it. It was one of those ideas he came up with, and I said, "I could write that," and he said, "You should!" and now I'm writing a play? Lol! Anyway, who knows what will come of it, but for now, I'm enjoying the possibilities.

March 20th - 1560 words, mostly on the challenge fic I'm writing, which still isn't finished, but also a little bit of editing on one of the fics I posted tonight, and a ficathon fill.

ha, a surprise play, that's fun.

as for me it was the writer's group zoom tonight so I wrote 1235 words to finish my Women of the Weird West story (now to get it speed betaed) and another 330 for a hazbin story that's now posted.

I'm back! Apparently I forgot to report my writing on the 16th, then I didn't write on the 17th, 18th, or 19th due to my medical issues, then tonight I wrote again!

Way to go write writing a play, Sylvanwitch! I wrote a play in high school that got a staged reading and was published in our school literary magazine. It's a totally different sort of writing from writing fiction, but it was a lot of fun to do.

So, yes, he's had this idea for a play to market to college campuses, but because it's me, I've queered the hell out of it, and given the current political climate, I'm not sure any school would go near it. I guess it could be made into a cishet thing, but I'd hate it, honestly. Whatever, I'm going to do what I enjoy because we all need these projects these days.

It has been a BLAST, especially because it's queer as hell, and I am *living* for these characters. I'm not sure it's what T. had in mind, given our current climate, re: marketability at colleges, but whatever. I'm going to wallow around in my favorite things for as long as I can manage it. ;-)

Yeah that would be a tough sell these days. Hell I'm half expecting to be told I can't do my women's history research presentation

I was well-received at the time. I haven't read it in years, and TBH I'm kind of afraid to. It was a one-act play on the theme of interacting with your family and trying to love them even when you're very different from them. The two main characters were a gay, vegetarian, liberal young man about to leave home to go to college and his conservative, ex-military and damn proud of it grandfather.

That sounds like a theme that was timely then and still is now, unfortunately. I love that young you was trying to communicate these vital ideas about love and belonging.

Those ideas and also ideas of trying to maintain connections with your people while leaving the place that you're from have been constants throughout my life. From the time I was old enough to have a concept of growing up and having a future, that idea always included the idea of leaving not only the small town I grew in but also the state, which I did as soon as I was able.
