ysilme here: I got back to my NaNo prep, and I'm still totally unsure of some central plot points. *g* I wrote a few notes to get an idea about the world I'm playing in, ending up with 123 new words so far.

sylvanwitch here: I noted in yesterday's entry that I was close to finishing. Well, I did finish...but it took 3000 words to do it. I'm feeling both good about the story and a little of that post-writing letdown. I'll probably edit once more tomorrow (I edited throughout the process of writing it this time) and post it too.

Hi! I didn't check in, but I have been writing. On Friday I challenged a friend to write a haiku, and took the challenge myself to write one at the end of every day on something from that day. So I have haikus for Day 25, 26 and 27.

No progress on the current ficlets, but I revisited an abandoned WiP and think it might be easy to finish it for the fan_flashworks amnesty.

Day 27: 447 words on the main WIP as I edit. lol definitely remembering why editing is necessary and I can't just post my first draft: I've already added a needed transitional scene and fixed a continuity error.

I wrote a bit! Not the things I meant to work on, but better something than nothing!

Just a general reminder that if someone not-me would like to host November, I'm very willing to hand it over, since I would usually prefer to keep at least half a year or so between my hosting months - now it's just been three months. But I do have the time to host, so if nobody turns up, I'll do it as promised.

Also, I'm sorry if you end up having to host again so soon after your last hosting and again at all, given how generous you've been throughout the whole of the challenge. Here's hoping someone volunteers, so you can have a break.

It's important for participants to remember that this is an entirely VOLUNTEER operation, which only works if people, well, VOLUNTEER! Lol!

Finished a Grief post and started another one. Only a few chapters to go, sure, but they're super-long, of course, and that usually means I need multiple posts to get through them.

No work on the nonfiction project. Busy day!

Late-sh last night, I had written about 600 words on the HL exchange fic, then noticed the strong smell of smoke. So looked outside and saw smoke wafting down the street. Augh! Well, the state is burning down. But I was afraid it might be closer, so spent some time furiously clicking around the internets and no more writing got done. There had been some fires in my area, in towns all around mine, in fact, but they were small brush fires and had been put out. The smoke was from the big fire in Sonoma county. The wind is fierce.

It's pretty scary here, though today it's relatively calm where I am. I have electricity and everything. I hope it stays that way!

OMGs! I'd definitely be too distracted to write if I were surrounded by active fires of any kind or size! I can only imagine how unnerving it is to see smoke and not know where it's coming from or how close the fire is that's causing it. I hope you stay safe and continue to have power. You're in my thoughts!
