ysilme here: still feeling exhausted from lack of sleep due to coughing. I wrote about two sentences so far, I think, and re-posted my pinch-hit story to my usual haunts after the reveals tonight. Not much to show for the day so far, but I hope a bit more is coming forth still.
sylvanwitch here: I finished editing, found a title and managed a summary for, and posted the Bond/Q story I've been working on since mid-December. Feeling good! :-)

Date: 2020-01-04 04:58 am (UTC)Spent another hour on the writing exercise. Didn't get as far as I would maybe have liked into the filling holes portion, but I do have a few new bits prodding at the back of my mind now. We'll see if I can get one of them written down tomorrow or if I can get any further writing the story out. Also one of the previously written bits sounds even more wobbly than I thought it was when I talk about it in this format so that's... helpful, I suppose. Trying not to go back and fix bits until all or most of the holes are filled, or unless filling a hole brings to mind a better way to do an older bit.

Date: 2020-01-04 03:41 pm (UTC)That writing exercise sounds a bit complicated to me, but likely only for my still sleep-deprived mind. *g* I hope you can work it out in the desired way for you!

Date: 2020-01-04 05:21 am (UTC)I thought I was going to have to use work writing for the check in (editing a report took up a good bit of my day), but I managed to get a couple good paragraphs for the WIP and I think I might even go write something completely unrelated and a bit porny here in a few minutes. Hmmmmm....

Date: 2020-01-04 05:04 pm (UTC)Yay for unrelated and porny goodness! I hope that came about for you. *grins*

Date: 2020-01-04 06:02 am (UTC)I am picking away at my WIP while settling back into my new/old home. Expect lots of small wordcounts this month!
Day 1: I gave myself a day off from writing.
Day 2: 173 words
Day 3: 128 words

Date: 2020-01-04 05:05 pm (UTC)Daily small word counts are sometimes the lifeblood of my writing routine, so I appreciate these check-in totals. I wish you many more words in whatever form they arrive for you.

Date: 2020-01-04 07:54 am (UTC)Ugh, sleep deprivation due to coughing is terrible. Because just coughing that much is exhausting in itself, and the sleep deprivation makes it worse. Hope you feel better soon,

Date: 2020-01-04 05:08 pm (UTC)Also, noted, re: time zones. :-)

Date: 2020-01-04 11:03 am (UTC)I usually post direct to challenge communities to beat the deadlines, then sit on the stories for a few weeks, sometimes months, editing and expanding, adding bits I didn't have time for because of the deadline. It means I have a folder of fics that are posted somewhere but I don't feel are really finished, and I keep coming back to them at random until they feel complete. A weird way of doing things, but it seems to work for me.
