March 7th - a bitty day. 1000 words. A triple drabble, two double drabbles, and three Doctor Who drabbles.

By "bitty," I can only think you mean bits of this and that because 1K is a great word count by any light! :-)

Exactly. I couldn't focus on anything plotlike, so drabbles, which don't require a lot of plot, and in 2 different fandoms for variety. It's a good way to get a decent word count on days when the brain is feeling sluggish and easily distracted, otherwise I can slog for hours on days like this without making much progress and end up feeling I've wasted the day.

March 7: ~250 words of noodling about a potential fic idea. :)

Yay for noodling! Maybe not all of those words will make the final cut, but some of them will make it better, for sure!

Mar 7: 890 words, yay!

Then I started to doubt the direction of things (sob!) but the story took me here, it can figure out where to go next!

Fear not! I had the exact same thing happen with the story I'm currently working on, and it did, indeed, work itself out. I just had to trust it to tell me where it wanted to go. I hope you find your way through it as well! :-)

As for me, I finished the chapter, woot! (I HAVE GOTTEN THROUGH THIS PARTICULAR PROBLEM AT LAST.) Started a new chapter, woot! (Which will give me new problems, sure, but right now they look like new and exciting problems, not the same ones I've been trying to resolve on and off since, what, last August?) For a total of 800-ish words.

btw, I now have 39K of continuous words for this story, AND all my remaining prewritten but unjoined scenes belong somewhere in this next chapter. I AM CLOSING IN ON THE GOAL. SOMEDAY THIS WILL BE A FINISHED STORY.

Lol! I think with this story it's considering living on a firetower in the Rockies, where no one will look at it or speak to it or ask it difficult life questions. ;-)
