ysilme here: no actual words yet for me today except for some comments on the finished chapter for the beta, and looking up and replacing a few terms.

sylvanwitch here: Today, I went through the entire dark portal story to make the narrative changes my notes yesterday recommended. The good news is that the story is now more than 100 words below the 4K upper limit. The bad news is I don't like the ending as it currently stands. I am out of brain power for today, but I feel pretty good about being able to get it done tomorrow. We'll see. I mean, it's not like there aren't other places I could now send this, but I would like to at least attempt to submit it to the open call that inspired me to make these cuts to begin with. I guess we'll see!

July 10th - 500 words, a double and a triple drabble.

I have finished with the rose for now. It still needs work, it's straggly and unkempt, but it's no longer going to get in the way of tree removal.

Excellent work on both writing and the ongoing rose-wrestling! I'm glad you were able to tame it back enough to prevent it from attempting to murder the tree-removal folks!

Yay for the drabbles and the word count, and for having done with the rose! ***\O/*** I'm sure the tree removal guys are highly appreciative of your efforts.

ysilme - Talking to your beta totally counts! As does looking up words!

sylvanwitch - Congrats on the story being under word-count; good luck keeping it that way when you have the brain to fiddle with the ending!

Day 10: Finished up a fic (~900 words apparently?), looked at mod comments on my zine fic draft (and made minor requested edits), and told the author whose minibang fic I beta-read that the changes they made worked. :D

Thank you! I need to look up lots of words or synonymes all the time; IDK why but my plotbunnies always seem to want me to write about things I don't know the vocabulary for yet, or I'm not sure if the term I'm coming up really fits. I just said the other day that the better my English is getting the more perfectionistic I'm getting as well with finding the exact term or description. This time is particularly difficult as I'm having tons of landscape descriptions, which I find much harder to convey to English than other things I'm writing about. Thankfully, my beta always knows what I want to say and is a marvel in getting my wonky wordings right. *g*

Jul 10: A bunch of editing on Ch9!

Thank you! Yes, definitely, as does editing among other things. But I've also set to me the additional goal of continuing at my WIP of the day every day with new or rewritten ongoing text, for which this didn't count. I managed a line or two afterwards, though.

Thank you! I think I made the deadline? The uncertainty comes in realizing only as I was getting ready to send it (via email) that the publisher is in the UK, so their July 11th may have already ended. I chose hope, however, and sent it along. ;-)

Day 10: 500 words—some of them replacing words I wrote yesterday, but it's improving the shape of the scene so it's a good thing.

That's definitely a good thing, go you! *\O/* I sometimes just rewrite whole paragraphs to get over some block or get back into the tone of the scene or so. To me, "writing every day" means doing something every day that leads to a result, or a better result, so everything counts for me that's going to work towards that. Sometimes this is just as mundane as rewriting something, although I'm also always adding at least an alibi sentence of new words just for my own conscisence. But the rewriting would be much more contributing to my goal in these cases than the alibi sentence, so there. ^^

Day 10 - finally made some actual forward progress on the outline I’ve been trying to write for months. Fingers crossed that I can keep it going.

I SO feel you on that; the story I'm currently working on is also refusing me since months - has been refusing me; the last chapter simply didn't want to come together. I'd resorted to rewriting the before-last chapter to get going, which seemed to have the right decision as I finished with that yesterday and am now confident I can continue with the proplem chapter, too. ;op

Day 10: I finally figured out the stopping point, and started writing where the story needed to go next. That will help a lot, until I got the next stopping point, if there is one. I really like leaving notes for myself about successes like that.

That's marvelous! I, too, enjoy the combination of a sense of accomplishment and one of relief when I finally noodle my way to figuring something out like that. YAY! YAY! YAY! *\o/*

Yay for words happening for you! But can you please always give your tally on the most recent entry, no matter for what day? I'm often not going by notifications but by checking the most recent entry, and I might either miss a tally on an older entry, or have to edit the post again. Thanks!
