Day 13: had various logistical things to deal with at home plus health stuff, managed ~370 words on the linguistics space opera. Hoping to sneak in a few more words tonight.

Thank you! I feel lately like every submission is a long-shot, but if I stop trying, I definitely won't get anything published, so here I go again. ;-)

I hope you got to sneak those words in after all, but about 370 is extra good when put in the context of the hassles and health stuff!

I *love* when I remember to write those sorts of sentences down, though sometimes, when I forget that I've done so and come across them however many days/weeks later, I laugh at how completely opaque I am to myself. I hope your notes are crystal clear for you! :-)

14th: half a reverse-engineered outline for a long fic draft that needs structural fixes. I'm trying the "make an outline, fix the outline, fix the fic" strategy, though in the past my tendency has been to futz with the outline to the extent that it barely applies to the fic anymore. /o\

I love the reverse-engineering idea, though I, like you, would have a challenge in ending up outlining an entirely different (and, knowing me, novel-length) story. I hope in this case the method works exactly as you hope it will and gives you clear guidance for where to go next with your draft.

Day 13 - 250 words for the fandom gift basket I'm quickly running out of time to finish

This one is *such* a long-shot b/c it's SWFA-qualifying, but I can't get published if I don't take the shot, so. (It's Pseudopod, fyi. The submissions window is open until 22 August, and they do both flash fic and short stories [up to 6K words].)

I wish you MANY words and a quick finish to your gift story, in that case!
