ysilme here: Today's choice of quote and image is by me. I love it very much, as I had a similar thought process going on when I was told the same sometime in my early writing life. I found it's the same for me for fanfiction; I need to write about what I know well and am passionate about to produce the kind of tales I want, and to enjoy the process.
My tally for the 12th is 193 words on the last WIP chapter; not as many as I wanted but I finally wrote through a recalcitrant bit of landscape description which finally feels right so I'm happy. Now I only need to find the right tone for the coming interaction, which has eluded me all this time...

sylvanwitch here: 387 words on "The Factory" before heading out for another long day of adulting. *sighs* At least I made myself sit down to write BEFORE the exhausting labors of the day.

Day 13: 600 words. I've put my fave Keith Windham in a very difficult and surprising situation, but I think I've more or less managed to justify the decision he ends up making...

Yay, great word count! This sounds fun and quite familiar as well. ^^ For me, it's often like "I want X to happen to my chara, so what do I need to let happen before to get there as X is surprising or even potentially unrealistic..."

Thank you. I even tamed the recalcitrant chapter now, with the simple but effective decision to just ignore the part that doesn't want to be written, end it just before, and pack the rest in a neat epilogue. So simple, and so elusive! ;op
