ysilme here: 340 words, first draft for a prompft fill for Scribbles & Drabbles 2023. Yesterday, I added 510 words to my tally.
sylvanwitch here: Today was a hiking and picnic supper day, so I crammed in some words before we left. I'm planning for my next project to be a themed short story collection, so I brainstormed some story ideas around the theme, and those bullet points came to 273 words.
Yay, words! What is this Scribbles and Drabbles thing?
Aug 25th - 1447 words. I wrote 3 more amnesty fills, a triple drabble and two 250-word pieces, and that was supposed to be it, but then my brain came up with an unexpected bonus ficlet while I was doing the dishes. I had to keep stopping and jot things down.
Day 25: Only two pages (about 200 words) on the linguistics space opera, but I'm trying to complete training phase 1 for slush reading for a zine. :) I've slushed before (I enjoy it), but of course the procedures are different everywhere. :)
I'm actually hoping to do some backstory work for the comic script thing later tonight, but first things first.
Day 25: nearly 2k because I forgot an exchange assignment was due tonight and not tomorrow and I thus had to scramble to complete a decent draft. xD; I succeeded!
25 Aug -- finished the scribbles and drabbles image upload. Got a proper paragraph on the pinch hit. I even got a title for it! Found myself sucked into file organization.
Go you, that's a terrific word count! And yay for the bonus ficlet! *\O/* It's fun how these come up when doing menial things, isn't it? ^^
Scribbles & Drabbles is a Tolkien art & fic event mostly in the usual fashion: first artists create prompts, then writers claim these and provide stories for the art. The main difference is that it's very low key, as the title implies; as the art really only needs to be a scribble and the writing can be as short as 100 words and can be unfinished. I'm participating for the second time and joined both as artist and author; like last year I made a few moodboards. You then can claim up to three arts, but claim more once you finished your minimum goal for the claimed arts and so on.
Thank you! I'm really pleased with my silly ficlet.
That sounds fun! Not sure I dare try to write in the Tolkien fandom though, it's been too long since I read the books / saw the movies. Might sneak in to read some of the fills though.
I'm so glad you're getting words in and are checking in with us now and again. Big ups for the words and for being a part of this wild ride we call WED! :-)
