ysilme here: 480 words, a draft outline for what might even become published fanfic - the nostalgia project threatens to bleed through. *g* Not for a long while, though; I first need to re-read several volumes of the canon series (still Age of Sail - The Bolitho novels).

sylvanwitch here: I prepped and submitted yet another short story, this one coastal horror, to an anthology. I'm not sure it's quite what they were looking for, but their submission guidelines were friendly and suggested if I wasn't sure, I should send it anyway, which made me smile.

Huzzah words!

I only got in two pages (about 200 words) on the linguistics space opera and am now mired typing it up into Scrivener from longhand, which I had gotten behind on. :p Also 200 words on hexarchate whump nonsense. Still, even slow progress is progress?!

On the bright side, it appears that YA book #1 (of a trilogy) may have a projected release date?! (I'm still waiting on edits for book #2, hence screwing around with other things, including comic stuff.) I've been told when in September to expect the proofreading copy to come in/be due back, so I've blocked out that time in my planner.

Tagging in for days 21, 22, and 23, before I go fall over and zonk. Today was long and eventful, though it all worked out in the end, thankfully.

If plotting out a potential future fic counts, then 1250 words for day 21!

A couple sentences only, alas, for days 22 and 23.

Edited to add: I was also in for day 18. I just double checked to make sure, and yep, worked on a couple different things that day. Whew!

Day 23 - 335 words of my novel dedication that I can't keep dragging my heels on

If I didn't have Duotrope, I'd be a mess in terms of what I've submitted where, especially with stories I've submitted multiple times over the years. I know you aren't looking for a subscription service, but I'm a big fan of it. I know there are other good ones too.

YAY for getting that dedication out of the way! Go, you! You're almost there!

I do have it all recorded as to when/where because I can't keep it in my head. If I did take on one it would be Duotrope because annoyingly some places will only post their acceptance/rejection notices there.

23 August -- 200ish words on the meeting Fingon wip, which is not what I should be working on but what is giving me words and worldbuilding. Did all the descriptions for my art for Scribbles and Drabbles which Flickr promptly ate (argh, why o why did I not save copies? I know better!) and I am almost half-way through re-creating them. A somewhat frustrating day, but not entirely unproductive.

Day 23: Re-read and did minor editing on the first half of the fic that's been languishing unposted. \o/ Thanks for the butt-kicking to make me do it!

I hadn't either, so I was pleasantly surprised to read the call and realize I had a story set at the seaside. (I have a couple set on the Great Lakes of the US/Canada, but there aren't nearly as many opportunities to submit those as there are sea-related horror calls, e.g. mermaid/man.)

YAY! I'm so glad the butt-kicking worked! YAY for the re-reading and editing! Go, you, on the second half of the fic editing!

Day 23: The Thing I'm working on has been reduced to just under 900 words. But as yhlee says, negative numbers are still numbers! ;-) I'll probably add and subtract and add more words before I'm finished.
