ysilme here: Not much writing to show for today, as I was mainly pushing around plot ideas and such, so just a handful new words. On the other hand, I nearly doubled my word count yesterday after posting the tally up to 1,4k.

sylvanwitch here: I've just finished editing and posting my little Witcher crack fic, so I'm counting that as my writing work for the day because I still have chores to complete. *sighs*

Finally said fuck it and decreed that the only canon relevant to a fic I started in June falls into one of two categories:

(A) it aired somewhere in the world before I started the fic (Miraculous Ladybug has hell for an airing schedule, have I mentioned?)
(B) it aired afterward, it wouldn't take hella reworking what I already wrote to include it, and I feel like including it

And I did an editing pass on both chapters of this fic that are drafted, and I'm post the first chapter of that in six hours or so as hobbit birthday present. (This has, of course, nothing whatsoever to do with how I can't seem to get anywhere on anything else I might have wanted to post on my birthday! Also nothing whatsoever to do with how I'm hoping someone will say something in the comments of ch 1 that will jog loose whatever needs jogging in order for me to actually draft ch 3 and 4…)

Jan 12: 800 words of a ficlet. I had hoped to finish and publish it, but I didn't have an end in mind when I started, and I unfortunately still don't have an end in mind, boo.

Yay for words! And good luck--endings are hard, yo. ;-) I hope that a little time and distance from the story helps your subconscious kick an ending up out of the mire and into your conscious mind. :-)

Day 11 - spent a large part of the day moving furniture and sorting through books and games, then fell into an exhausted sleep.

I'm seconding about the word count, how awesome! *\O/* I'm happy WED is keeping on motivation you, this is our mutual goal, after all.
You've probably seen that I've edited you into the most recent tally. I'm afraid, though, that it slipped sylvanwitch's mind that these days, I'm only editing in late check-ins in the way she mentioned, and not also in the older entries. We used to do it this way but it's quite tedious when having to edit several days in a row that I stopped, doing the most recent tally entry only, and, of course, the final tally. :o)

Day 12: busy day of errands, cooking, and mom's birthday dinner, but managed to squeeze in 275 words on the WIP with a deadline, and 604 words on the one without.

Day 12 - 1411 words on the new WiP, which despite having reached 4.7k remains nowhere near finished and will have to be added to as time allows.

Today I have other things to write, mainly drabbles for several challenges, so who know when I'll get back to it? I still like the idea, and the plot (such as it is), but there's so much to describe, a whole bunch of OCs I had to add, and why do characters insist on having long conversations? I have zero control over them.

Lol! I can definitely relate, re: characters running their mouths. I hope you find the end sooner rather than later, though it does sound like this story has grown legs and taken off for the hills! *grins*

A lot of exposition was needed, Ianto needed to gather information, so the conversations weren't completely pointless, which is something.

I want to do right by this story because I really like it, but it'll take a while to finish the first draft. Had no time today to work on it, too busy with RL. I'll get back to it at some point though, I do at least have a vague idea whee it's going.

I succeeded at my goal of getting the two of my current assignment kissing, which was what I needed to get it to completion. And started in a little on the other open assignment, so that's also helpful.

Plus, lots of comments on the snowflake challenge responses.

I haven't checked in in a few days because I fell sick and spend most of my time alternating between sleeping and coughing while constantly having a super sore throat. :( I really hope it's going to pass soon. But anyway! I've still been doing bits of writing whenever I can. Here's what I've got:

Day 9: 435 words
Day 10: 101 words
Day 11: there was an alibi sentence I haven't even yet deleted?
Day 12: no actual writing or editing, but still doing something writing-related: experimenting with mind-mapping software to make a clearer visualization of all the political intrigue in my novel so I can see at a glance what's going on.
