March 17th - 1065 words, 6 Doctor Who drabbles and the start of a ficlet.

Also, buddleia number two cut down to size. Took a little over an hour and a lot of sawing, but now it can put all its effort into the branches it has left and become a better bush instead of the straggly thing it was last year.

YAY for mindful pruning! In this way, I think gardening is a lot like editing. ;-) I hope the bush is beautiful as it grows into its best self! :-)

I wrote a 3k story in one sitting this morning, because that was apparently how long that scene/idea had to be.

I also wrote some drabbles over the course of the day. xD

It can't look worse than it did last year. Buddleias respond well to being cut back hard, and I've got my timing right this year. I was a bit late last year so didn't cut back as far as I would have liked to.

Mar 17: 172 words. Trying to figure out how to introduce the villain.

YAY for words and good luck with getting that villain in there. Why can't they just introduce themselves, right? Writing would be SO MUCH EASIER if characters did this. :-)

Day 17: A little over 400 words (maybe closer to 500, but I deleted a bunch. 8-(

Ugh, it's always so counter-intuitive, isn't it? I find that deleting words, even when I know the story is better without them, feels like regressing, and I think it's the same mechanism that convinces me that exercise doesn't count on my body if I'm not wearing my fitness watch when it happens--lol! Anyway, YAY for words! I'm glad you're making them. :-)
