Hard to be sure, since it's been up and down recently, a bad day, then a better day, then a bad one again. Still feeling tired and lacking energy for anything physical, but sitting writing is mostly manageable.
Day 7: 1.5k, apparently! That is more words than I thought. xD I'm glad to be back working on that story, though; it's a lot of fun and I'm glad to be uh almost getting to the imagery that was the original seed of the story.
I also realised that if I shove a vague "oh I wanna do something with this character" feeling into a concept I stalled out on for plot reasons, I can solve those plot problems! Now to see how long it takes me to actually write that fic. :3
This is all GOOD news! I'm so glad you're enjoying revisiting both stories--that's exciting! I hope they come out better than you'd imagined for them and that any plot difficulties continue to be solved with the addition of a concept and/or character. :-)

Oooh, that's a good trick! *makes a note for one of my stuck wips*
Thanks! It seems like the kind of thing that should work for me -- my brain is more interested in characters than plots. :-) And along those lines, I just found this insight from a Writing Excuses podcast, which I noted down for the same stuck WIP and will include here on the off-chance it's helpful:
You can't have a sense of progress without having a goal. "Progress" = the character's perception of progress. :-)
Day 7 (ooh, whole week!): Typed up yesterday's bits, put a note to myself about where it could be spliced with the existing bit and moved on. Wrote another two pages.
YAY for quiet time in the trope--I do love me some surprise domesticity in the midst of the chaos. Mmmm. Everything about this fic sounds delightful!
Honestly, given how MANY venues there are out there for horror flash fic, I think I'd be doing a disservice to myself if I didn't give it a shot, but more than that, and as you say, it sounds fun to try a new-to-me form.
Yay both of you for your words! *\o/* sylvanwitch, good luck with the word limit -- those can be a fun challenge!
8th: 908 words, but that includes some notes in the file. Still a lot more than my goal of 500. (Unfortunately, my WIP has grown a subplot. I think it wants to be longer than I'd hoped. And this is very much a rough draft. *dreads the amount of rewriting that will have to follow* :-)
I am looking forward to seeing if I can manage it. To say that I'm discursive is to put it politely, so I think I'll benefit from the practice. ;-)
EXCELLENT progress, my friend! Oh, noes on the subplot, but also WHEEEEE! because subplot. (See above, re: my natural state is turning short things into novels. ;-)
