March 29th - 1085 words, first draft of a fic for an old challenge.

Excellent work! Is this one of those challenges you're NOT supposed to be writing for? *grins* (Words are words, and when they want to come in this or that form, I say let 'em. :-)

Yes, and it's one that has a 500 word limit but I figure since it's an old prompt and I won't be posting to the challenge community, it doesn't matter if I go over the limit by a few hundred words... *grins* It wasn't an easy one to write though, took me hours to get something resembling a fic. I just hope it works in the end. >.< I kept changing my mind about things, then had to come up with some appropriate names for some OCs, and look up regional foods, and travel times...

Day 29: A surprising 1k, considering that I didn't start writing until the end of the day. It's nice to feel my POV character's voice slip around me like this.

Thank you, indeed it is! I'm convinced this is also why alibi sentences are so helpful; one can feel good about having written at least _something_ and not start the next writing day with a bad conscience already. At least this is the case for me. ;o)

30th: I went to writers' hour and used the time to finish my Dreamwidth post and make a few tiny tweaks to a heist fic. I've printed out the fic, and plan to read it through and edit this evening.

Mar 29: A few paragraphs longhand on a story, and a farewell later to my current colleagues. (Gosh, that sounds ominous! But it's only a promotion into another department, nothing more sinister!)

It's been a while since I worked on the current fic, so I touched base with it and did some rewriting and streamlining of a scene. I wound up adding 19 words overall but I'm happier with it now. I'll try to alternate the fic with the two con reports until I get all three of them done!

Also left a comment on a fic on AO3. I hadn't really focused on the emotional arc that the author had crafted until I began working on the comment, so it benefited me to take a closer look, too.

Go you for getting back at work with your current fic! It's always nice when a bit of a break with a fic leads to a more well-rounded result, isn't it?

Excellent progress all around! It's outstanding that leaving comments helps you develop your own perspective as well!

Thank you! Because I altered the order of narrative POVs in the chapter, I ended up cutting a whole sequence, which works better for the flow of the story *and* forced me to think of different ways to create a sense of suspense, so I'm learning stuff as I go, which is great. :-)
