ysilme here: 480 words on my drawer christmas fic in the morning. Otherwise, an exhausting day including fun (but also exhausting) niece-herding, so I'm going to work at yet unfinished knitted and crocheted Christmas presents instead of writing for the rest of the evening.

sylvanwitch here: Today's virtual writing club meeting led to a dark little holiday tale, which I finished after we'd logged off. That came in at 1788 words, and I'm quite proud of it. It's weird and wicked. For that reason, though, I added only 518 to the novel tonight. Still, it was a good writing day.

Dec 16th - 900 words on assorted drabbles and double drabbles.

Knitting - sewed up the arm warmers I finished a few days ago and knitted 70 rows on the second of the current pair.

The editing is generally fun, because my beta is my best friend and they can poke fun at my usual writerly flaws. :)

17th: (Aaaaaaaah, it's the 17th!!! December is slipping through my fingers! And I haven't done my weekly update yet!) 519 words of zero draft on the next part of the Yuletide treat, which feels like progress! Characters are actually communicating. There might eventually be kissing (if I can figure out what goes in the gap between the two parts of the conversation). Also, I found a title for my action scene fic, which very much feels like progress! Also also, I read through the action scene fic again, on my kindle, and made 65 notes of things to check or fix, which feels like, ugh, stalling, but the story will be better for fixing those things (and some of them were typos), so no regrets really. I'm just ready for it to be done. Tomorrow.

Right now I have to clean the house. :-)

I hope by now you've finally been able to post that story feeling 100% confident that you gave it your absolute best because from where I'm sitting, you totally did! YAY!

I'm sorry things are so crappy lately for you, and I hope they somehow improve or something comes along to help lift your spirits.

As for the story, I'm thinking of finding a holiday anthology home for it, so I probably won't post it anywhere. If you come across a holiday horror themed dealio, I'd appreciate a heads-up (for next year's season, obviously--way too late for this year's). On that note, if you're ever looking to place a particular story, let me know and I'll keep an eye out for you too. I'm diving back into my efforts to get published this year, so I'll be doing a lot more searches.
