ysilme here: day 19: a bit over 1k on a blog entry and more plotting and pondering of bingo card and challenge ideas.

sylvanwitch here: It seems a cardinal irony that the preparation for a vacation is so time-intensive and stressful. Today began with serious adulting and has proceeded with errands and chores and is, alas, not over yet. However, I did just now squeeze in 245 words on the flashfic. It's already over 1K, but it's almost finished, so I'll do that tomorrow before I sit down to figure out what words need to be cut.

200 words, plus one or two because Written Kitten and AO3 calculate word counts a little differently, and I was taking AO3's count as the more important to match exactly, fulfilling my seasonsofdrabbles assignment! :D

ysilme: I'm glad you're having such fun with that bingo card!

sylvanwitch: EVERY time I get ready to go on vacation, I wonder if the stress and anxiety is going to be worth it. EVERY TIME. (It usually does turn out to be worth it, but boy am I dubious in the run-up!) Good job getting words in, and hang in there.

Jul 20: A paragraph and a sentence of longhand, and I asked my wife to pick me up a new longhand notebook for when we go on vacation ourselves next month.

I hear you so much on the vacation issue! I just commented to sylvanwitch below that it's the same for me, or rather like you describe it. But it does usually turn out to be worth it to for me, too - I just wish it'd be possible with less ado... *sigh*
Yay for continued longhand writing! Getting another notebook sounds only sensible. ^^

I sat down at the end of a long day and thought I'd manage 100 words at most, but I was inspired and wrote 500! Total wordcount 57,300.

I've had no internet access for a while, but I did write every day from day 8 to day 20, for a total of 6820 words! (Turns out having no internet is good for writing :D )

Oh yes, that's a great result for the internet-free time, congrats! *\O/* I'm a bit of two minds about this - in general, havig lesss distractions is helping me a lot, too, but on the other hand not having a dictionary at hand as I'm always writing in English has turned out to slow me down again, as I sometimes don't seem to be able to get over a part I don't have the "fitting" terms for. Unfortunately, local/offline dictionaries are so expensive that I refrained from getting one so far. My English is pretty decent by now, but I kind of always end up with writing about something I need additional vocabulary, or can't think of the terms I need. ;op
Is this an issue for you, too, and if yes, how are you coping with it?

Yes, definitely an issue! But I usually just write the French word, or the best English word I can think of, and then mark the sentence with XXX to remind me to come back to it. Sometimes it can be dangerous... In my first posted fic, years ago, I had a character "erring in the streets" (errer in French = wander in English) :D

I hear you on the vacation prep issues! It's always like this for me, and part of why I'm sometimes not very keen on going away in the first place. ;op I hope the adulting soon lets up and you're going to have a wonderful and relaxing vacation! ***hugs*** Go you for getting so many words written despite all this!

Thank you so much! And yes, it's just so stressful, but I AM hopeful that once we get out on the road tomorrow, I'll feel better. I used to be better at preparing for travel, when we were doing it more regularly, but this is our first significant trip since summer 2019, so I'm out of practice and feel like I'm flailing!
