ysilme here: I spent my free time today mostly with writing Christmas letters and cards, ended up with a migraine, sat down for at least an alibi sentence for my drawer Christmas fic which turned in to more words, but found I had written myself in a corner at about 80 words. ;o) I'll take care of it tomorrow. ^^

sylvanwitch here: It was a VERY long day full of remote teaching and errands and a walk in the snow, but despite being completely wrung out, I managed 865 words on the novel, for which I'm grateful. One more day until break!

Today was a very chill day, because a winter storm blew through overnight and only petered out in the early afternoon, so it was very much a snow day. A nice thing to have, and I was more productive during it than I expected.

It was just a terribly depressing day I did write trying to get out of that hole. 289 words came from editing things + 570 words to finish a fandom trees story + 806 words on a Pson holiday fic

Ugh, I'm so sorry, hon. I read your post and I empathize. I hazard a guess that your family is more functional than mine, so it matters more to you that they're being shitty. I'm so sorry. I hope it resolves itself; it's really unfair to you.

Checking in for day 16 and 17! I put the script down for awhile and did some outlining of a SPN fic I've been thinking about. I haven't written SPN fic since 2013 but ... 2020 is already so weird, so why not

Lol! I, too, revisited SPN not so long ago for the first time since...gosh, the start of S8, whenever that was. What's that line? "Just when you think you're out, they pull you back in." The mafia and SPN fandom have a lot in common--lol!

I didn't need to default Yuletide! I came up with a story idea that was quite easy to write, and managed to write the first version in three days and post it last night! Yay me! I'm happy, I was getting pretty stressed out about everything this week and wondered if I'd have to last-minute default and then try to finish the story as a treat if I could. But now I've got it. I still want to add a couple of scenes, but if for some reason I don't manage to do that, the story works as it is, too. Though I definitely want to edit it before the reveals, but there's still a week left before that.

Dec 17th - 770 words, a ficlet and a double drabble plus a bit of editing.

Knitting - finished the second short arm warmer, that pair just neds sewing up, started another one with some weird yarn, three colours twisted together, white, green and a very dark navy blue. The thickness varies so I don't know what this pair will turn out like.

The knitting on both is finished, just have to sew them up. One day I might take pictures and post them, things are just a little hectic at present, but this pair is certainly different, lol!

Checking in for Day 17, progressions in checking to make absolutely sure that Yuletide fic was marked complete and was as few of typos and non-deliberate ambiguities as possible, thinking about a discarded Yuletide draft of the same idea, but a different thing and whether I wanted to finish it, and putting a lot of words into helping review some escape rooms that smallings put together before they're released to the wild. (I realize that I want to be a thorough beta for anything I'm asked to beta, so I don't know if that means I'll ever be an effective beta, but there it is.)

Ah, yes, the perfect versus done conundrum, one over which I have pondered many a time. I think in the case of beta-ing, it largely depends on what the other person needs (and, I guess, how soon they need it--lol!). Anyway, I admire your dedication to getting it right.

Also, good for you for being meticulous with your *own* proofing. As a reader, I always appreciate a well-appointed fic entirely aside from the story, characters, etc.
