Well, if I do it won't be for at least another week since it's now raining and that's supposed to continue every day for the foreseeable future. I really hate wet summers.
Thanks! ♥ I managed a little more to give me 1,155 total! (I was really hoping to get 1k, so I'm very pleased! :-)
Easing off seemed to help, though, because I came up with a sort of ninety-degree turn of the whole story that I think might make it work better. We'll see!
ysilme: may your time painting and thinking about plots and characters turn into many excellent words!
sylvanwitch: oh, hurrah! It sounds like letting it backburner was just what you needed! I hope it goes well when you sit down to it again!
Lost all my writing time to modly duties, sat down to write an alibi sentence. Never got to the end of the story to add a new sentence to it, but did add several sentences inline while I was cleaning up some things, so... We're counting it as successful writing time.
That is definitely successful writing time, even without arriving at the intended alibi sentence. YAY for inline editing and for modly duties, though BOO for running out of time.
Time, what does it even mean anymore? (Brought to you, in my case, by summer break. This year, more than any other, I am having a terrible time remembering what day of the week it is. I'm also having a greater struggle with even relaxing. I keep feeling like there's something I'm supposed to be doing. Weird.)
ANYWAY (sorry): YAY for so many words! YAY! Also, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
Oh, noes! Well, I guess that means you'll have to write some more (?). I'm not sure how that works for your process. DO you need a fresh prompt, or can you pick up where you left off?
Did some writing for work that I'm actually pretty happy with, so I'm going to count it. And found out today that my roommate and I were approved for the apartment we applied to rent! So I guess it's finally happening!
Oh, YES! YAY! YAY! YAY! *\o/* I'm SO excited for you and your roommate! That's fantastic news! And now you can breathe a sigh of relief and maybe take a day or two to relax before you have to start packing, I hope.
Ysilme, good job getting that alibi sentence made on an exhausting day! And Sylvanwitch, I hope your new idea pans out.
On the 16th, I have: - Edited chapter 22 of the poly fic. - Realized I needed to do research to continue on the new longfic. I'm glad I bought those tomes of 18th century history...ended up writing 200 words (total wordcount: 1,700).
(Also, I'm an eighteenth century Americanist, if there's anything I can help with. Don't want to presume, though. It's a big world, and every part of it had an eighteenth century. :-)

Hee, very true. : )
I'm looking for information about the activities of a man called Archibald Cameron in Scotland before he was arrested in 1752 and subsequently executed for treason (still not finding enough on that), about the Appin murder in 1752 (I think I found enough on that!), and more generally about the social unrest in the Scottish Highlands in the early 1750's following the 1745 British civil war (found some on that, would love more).
I'm happy to hear that you seemed to have found a solution for that fic! :o) Just not looking at something sometimes really does the trick. *keeping my fingers crossed* Just happened to me, too, with that recalcitrant WIP - I finally had the entry lines, but got stuck again after them, so decided to let it rest for two days, and now it finally seems to flow. *knocks on wood* (And all that ado for something that was meant to be just a really short bingo fill.... /O\ )
YAY! I'm so glad the words are flowing for you again! I'm taking another break from the flash fic today, but that's for busy-ness/focus reasons, not because I'm stuck. I'll come at it again tomorrow (6/19), when T's at work all day and I have the quiet time to focus on it. :-)
I'm also smiling at the predicament of a short fic that goes long, as that is pretty much my modus operandi, present flash fic excluded. (Indeed, it's one of the reasons I'm trying my hand at flash fic--I think it's a useful exercise in condensing a story down to the vital parts.)

Day 16: 1.2k for a quick exchange fic, and "editing" (rewriting, really) a scene of another fic.
