ysilme here: a handful of words yet so far for day 22 but I hope I'll be able to add a bit more yet.

sylvanwitch here: We spent the day at a safari park (think a big, wide-open, walkable zoo) and saw a baby hippo, which was the most adorable creature! Before we left for the day’s adventure, I added about 130 words to the fanfic I started yesterday.

The safari park sounds awesome! Baby hippos are indeed super-adorable - baby rhinos too, if you ever have the chance to see one. (I spent most of the pandemic streaming behind-the-scenes-at-zoos TV shows.)

I wrote tonight — remixed about half the chapter, so I'll probably (hopefully!) finish and post the chapter tomorrow!

I did get to see a baby rhino last year, maybe, or the year before? SUPER cute, for sure! During the pandemic, I had an almost daily habit of watching live aquarium videos from somewhere in California. Very soothing. Great minds and all that! :-)

It's a favorite of ours; we try to go at least once a year, and this past December, we did their drive-through "Safari Lights" program, which is something like 3000 light displays? No live animals, but it was still a lot of fun. Anyway, they're part of an endangered species preservation program, so I don't feel guilty giving them our patronage.

YAY for those words! I know things are difficult right now. Here's hoping you can turn that energy to the escape of writing. :-)

I think a little of both? Mama flashed her huge teeth at us (not in a threat display--I think she was yawning), and then later Dad did the same and boy, howdy, it is easy to see why they are among the most murderous animals in the world!

It was a pain in the butt! The story is a collection of newspaper articles, journal articles, book excerpts, etc., and everything needed a citation, most of which I skipped doing in the original draft.

Of course, now that I've got it posted, I'm noticing all the places where I said to myself, "Surely a book title is enough, it doesn't need to have an author, too?" "Surely it's enough to say that it was published by an independent press, the press doesn't need its own name, too?" *shifty-eyed* This universe's Hbomberguy is gonna do a six-hour video calling out my exhibit curator for not properly crediting sources...

Thank you! Again I didn't, though; again too tired for anything coherent and more than another alibi sentence or two. ;op But I had done some file-, character- and scrivener-wrestling which I forgot to mention, so the day had been more productive than I thought, also writing-wise.

Sometimes the time/energy/focus doesn't come together; if you're tired, I say taking care of yourself is more important than pushing for more than an alibi sentence. But it's always nice to look back at the day and realize you got more done than you thought you did, too. :-)

I'm fully with you on this in general! Taking care of oneself is more important indeed, and when I really don't find any time or things pile up too much I don't mind it at all not having found the time or engery to write. But in cases like yesterday, when the main reason is bad time management on my part, or procastinating with things so long that one a given day (yesterday) my writing time gets eaten up by things I postponed too long, I'm annoyed at myself at needing to cut my writing time short for this reason. ;op

The safari park sounds awesome, how cool for you! I've never been to one though we have a few, I believe; but to my knowledge those here are for driving in them, otherwise it'd be "just" a zoo. *g* We do have large "petting" areas in most zoos for kids where suitable animals are running free - mostly goats, land turtles, rabbits, guinea pigs and such.
A baby hippo must have been the most adorable sight! ♥

Again I didn't really write after posting the WED entry, I've been too tired, so it's about 45 words altogeter. But I forgot to mention that I actually had been organizing notes, files, character sheets and such in two of my main storywriting scrivener projects, so did more writing-related work than I thought.

There is a much larger drive-through safari park about an hour or so from here, also on the Canadian side of the border, but though this one is smaller and less spectacular, we enjoy it more because we can get in a good ramble AND spend time watching the animals rather than driving through. The baby hippo was absolutely the highlight of the whole day! :-)

YAY for getting those files and notes, etc., organized! I think that's excellently productive (and so useful for later, too)! *hugs*
