ysilme here: Today I woke to the wonderful feeling of having no urgent things on my to-do list, nothing important to do, which is rarer than I like to admit. If I can I like to read a bit while still in bed, and today was joined by my two furry daughters who insisted on power cuddling on top of me, which in turn created a plotbunny for a fannish Yule ficlet. I wrote about 350 words as a first draft, but don't know yet if this really turns into something.

sylvanwitch: Another day of grading, and I am 1/3 of the way done. The plan is to finish by Christmas Eve, so I have a few days of no work before I have to start doing prep work for the post-break. I also added 979 words to the novel. The words are flowing a lot more eagerly now, as I move into the most fleshed out part of my outline and the last few chapters of the novel. I may need an 8K day like I used to do just to get this thing finished before the new year. We'll see.

Dec 19th - 1000 words, a complete challenge fic, although it will likely be expanded before it gets posted to my journal. It's just that the challenge has a strict 1k limit.

Knitting - maybe 120 rows on fawn coloured arm warmers. I was watching the Strictly Come Dancing final so I had plenty of time to knit but not much opportunity to count rows...

I have definitely written words today but I think most of them were blog posts. Did do some fiction stuff, though! A quick beta read for a servermate, and a bit of noodling about a potential treat.

Words are words 'round these parts, so no worries--blogging absolutely counts, as does beta reading, as you rightly noted. I'm of the mind that even just pondering or wondering or throwing things about in one's head counts as writing of a sort. It's all process, man. :-) You rock!

19th: I wrote 1179 words of meta in a comment to a Guardian discussion post, and added 404 words to my Yuletide treat. (I need to finish this treat, or there won't be time to get it betaed -- plus I have a Yuletide beta to do myself. Meep!)

sylvanwitch: Yay, 1/3 done! I think starting with the (anticipated to be) most demoralizing ones is a clever plan -- get the hardest part of the job out of the way first! And yay, words that are eager to be written! (I like that image!) Fingers crossed that you won't need the 8K day, but we'll be cheering for you if that's what you decide to do.


Check-in: First day of a three-day weekend, and I spent the morning goofing around with an 18th century coffee recipe (it uses mustard powder! it was very nice!), among other things, so I got a late start on the writing. But I got 500 words done, and we'll see how tomorrow goes.
