ysilme here: a few sentences so far for today, but I'm once again just starting.

sylvanwitch here: Spent a good chunk of the day meeting a former student and his partner for a tour of the alma mater and then lunch in a nearby pub, which was lovely all the way 'round, but socializing always takes it out of me, so my brain is pretty numb. Instead of tackling the last half of the flash fic, I worked on another word from the prompts list I generated earlier in the week. 323 words on that.

Rainy, rainy day blues.

June 18th - 769 words, a challenge ficlet, a triple drabble, and some editing.

I've also started sewing up my sweater that I recently finished knitting, and I've been looking through pattern magazines for my next project. I have about 6 so far, maybe 7. I need to knit faster!

Ugh, I hope you see a break in the wet weather soon. (I wish there were a way you could send it via portal to our western states--they're having a terrible drought and wildfires right now. Someone should get on developing that portal thing. ;-)

Great word count! YAY for knitting projects that can be done for pleasure (rather than to keep yourself from freezing to death, if I recall circumstances correctly).

So so I. Heavy rain forecast for tomorrow and the day after, at the very least, and it'll probably rain at some point today.

Yes, knitting for pleasure rather than survival is good. I've almost finished my first sweater of the year, I need to knit faster because there are so many more I want to make with all the yarn I've got. Plus, it's chilly enough right now that knitting is pleasantly warming.

Ugh, got behind on my checkins. But Days 16-18 involved a little tab clearing, and getting somewhere important in my sprint story, such that I might have the end in sight, and maybe finally getting past a block I had on a major work that needed doing. So yay for important things!

Oh, those ARE important things! YAY for seeing the end approach, so to speak, and also for getting past that block--that's AWESOME news! YAY!

Today I wrote a little bit more time travel.

19th: 664 of an original flashfic (part of a time-travel sequence); proofed my exchange treat and edited it, adding a net total of 69 words; and 238 words on my WIP. It's still early, but I'm going to send my exchange fic to beta and then call it a day and go be sociable. :-)

GO YOU on the original flashfic. Recent events in my own writing life have made me even MORE impressed with folks like you who can do it. I am a neophyte where this form is concerned.

Thanks! And ha, well, atm all my flashfic snippets are joining up, because it makes it easier than inventing a whole world every time. But I like to think they also more or less stand alone.

I did some editing, then started a short story about a very anxious thief who failed at robbing the villain and is currently trying to lie his way out of the failure. I have no idea where it's going or how many words it's going to take. So far, I have about 1,200 words and I'm having fun. :)

That last bit--the part about fun--that's the BEST news! YAY! I hope the whole story is a blast for you!

Days 16-18: Taking care of my mom, then decompressing afterward has been taking up a lot of my time. So I've only managed alibi-sentence-worth bits of writing on the silly essay (sigh). But it moves forward, if slowly...

Being a caretaker under any circumstances is difficult, but in this case, you must be stressed and exhausted. I hope you find some time to relax and recharge. I think it's excellent that you are keeping your hand in on the writing, and I hope you're able to continue finding some solace in writing. :-)
