ysilme here: 554 words for day 28 with 116 for the NP. The rest was documentation on how to transfer my calibre libraries onto a new computer, the attempt of which ate up most of my writing time today. Turns out the export and import of multiple libraries doesn't work as intended, or at least not according to the tutorials I consulted, so I wrote my own after several failed attempts. At least it worked out in the end! *phew*

sylvanwitch here: 251 words on the Norns short story, with some significant editing too, all in the service of making the conflict more conflict-y.

Day 28: Working on the outline for a mini reverse big-bang fic that I need to actually write draft for in the next few days. :) I know more or less what's going to happen! Just need to turn it into scenes now.

I just have to ask: What is a "reverse big-bang fic"? For that matter, what is a "big-bang fic"?

Whatever it is, good job with producing the outline!

A Big Bang is a fandom community event where writers pledge to write long fic (classically 50k min; these days they're often shorter minimums, but still something meant to challenge the community writers) and artists sign up to draw (at least) one piece of art for the fic. A Reverse Big Bang has the artist draw something first, and then writers create fic for it.

The reverse bang I'm writing for set the writer minimum at 4.5k, so I'm calling it a mini reverse bang because the bar is low. :)

Thanks for taking the time to explain this — in the past I've had people react really badly to me asking questions like that, telling me to "go google it," but given a choice I'd rather talk to someone about it.

I've seen references to Big Bangs around in fandom, and now that I know what it is, I might try one!

And you can totally say that. *deep sigh* At least with the calibre issue I had an idea where the problem was and was able to solve it based on previous experience - I did something similar before but hadn't documented it, but recreating this was a bit easier this time. What actually frustrates me much more is the keyboard layout of the thing. Who in the world decieds to place the FN key to the left of the CTRL key??? I've had several notebooks already as well as regular keyboards of various layouts, but never before had I something which is so counterinitiative and bothersome. I can only assume the layout designer is using the mouse only and doesn't know any keyboard shortcuts. *rolls eyes*

Well done! Clearing any sort of vine or twining climber is a battle. I still need to get some of the fuzzy honeysuckle out of the shrubs it's strangling, but that's going to be difficult since I can't reach most of it. At least the bits that I've cut the lower parts off might die off...
