I was running around doing a bunch of errands all afternoon and came home exhausted. I put in my minimum 100 words on some planning for the next scene.
It's doubly impressive that you wrote despite being weary after what sounds like a very long day! YAY for words, especially under those conditions! :-)
ysilme: Yay for fun WIPs! Yay for more words yet to come!
sylvanwitch: Enjoying the writing is such an important part! It makes the whole process worth it, even if the story doesn't become anything in particular. :)
Day 23: Meta! No words of fic, and that's fine, it's nice having a break sometimes.
That seems a sensible way of looking at things, and anyway, you're still participating, keeping your muscles limber in preparation for when you're finally settled in the new place and can spend more time with the words. :-)
Day 23: I did not actually have high hopes for today because the workday did not end on a high note and my brain was not super into processing things. However, once I'd typed up yesterday's bit it turns out that the side characters who started talking yesterday are gossipy fucks and they went on for four pages longhand.
320+ words tonight and I still don't hate any of them. This is unprecedented.
Writing Soundtrack: I was looking for something that created an oppressive / frightening / disorienting atmosphere for the scene I was writing and I ended up coming up with Odonis Odonis
How exciting that not only did you write but that the writing made you happy! YAY!
Also, thanks for the link! You always introduce me to such interesting music. This seems just the sort of music I'd enjoy while driving, but I cannot listen to anything with lyrics in English while writing, or I get all distracted. I admire that you can do both!
I won't lie, posting the music is partially a vanity thing - I always feel like I've unlocked an achievement when I can find a piece of music that evokes a strong mood, and when I can match the music with the writing it really does feel like the words flow so much more easily.
I don't expect other people to listen to them, so I'm always delighted when you do. :-)
I enjoy your music postings because they invariably introduce me to something I wouldn't have found on my own, largely because lately (and this goes in cycles for me), I don't think about putting on music when I write. Whatever your reasons for sharing, I'm always glad that you do, so thank you! :-)
Day 23: More compiling of scattered material, not the same thing I was working on yesterday. I do need to get back to the silly essay (which is taking waaaay too long) but sheesh, I wrote all this stuff and don't want it to just lay there forever in bits and pieces. This isn't in even zero draft form; sub-zero, I guess. 8-) Anyway, it's satisfying to pull some of it together so I can really work on it. I keep thinking of an old fifties instrumental record Mr. Bookshop owns where the music stops in the middle and someone says, "Say, that's almost good!" 8-)
Ysilme: Writing on a fun WIP sounds like just the thing. 8-) I hope you had time to write more.
Sylvanwitch: I'm glad you're having fun writing your unexpected story!
And good for you for persevering to put things together and figure out how the assembled parts might make a whole. That's sometimes really toilsome, which makes it desirable to avoid, so it's good that you're putting in the time and effort, even if it does mean the silly essay has to wait a bit. :-)
The heat continues to be not very writing-friendly. I made two attempts at starting a flash fic. One resulted in about 150 words of utter nonsense. The other gave me a promising starting sentence, and then my brain died. :D Well... I guess I tried!
Day 23 meant I kept plugging away at the primary big fic project. Words are coming a little easier, now that I'm in a different scene and gathering momentum.
